Unbridled Minds – A Symphony of ADHD: A Poem

In this year of challenging myself, I have given an inverse poem a go! I found this style of poetry incredibly difficult to do. It took a lot of writing and re-writing but I think I managed to encapsulate the style!

An inverse poem is a form of poetry where the lines or words can be read both forward and backward, creating a different meaning or message when read in reverse. Generally, an inverse poem will read negative from top-to-bottom and positive from bottom-to-top. The concept of an inverse poem adds an additional layer of complexity and intrigue to the poetic form.

Unbridled Minds – A Symphony of ADHD

I’m useless

Don’t tell me that

I can do all things

I will just remind myself

I’m unfocused and distracted

I won’t be swayed when people say

I am not my ADHD

At the end of the day

I’m incapable of finishing things

I just cannot believe

I can hyperfocus on things I love

No matter what

Tasks will never get done

I do not believe

I have boundless creativity

ADHD lives in my head

Am I a lost cause as they say?
