Entering My 29th Year

“We turn not older with years, but newer every day.”

Emily Dickinson

The years truly do go faster as you grow older. I’m not old by any standards, I’m not 30, or anywhere close to middle age yet, but the years are flying by. It’s strange, but as the hands of time keep ticking I find myself at the significant milestone of turning 29. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is a peculiar age. I’m in the final year of my 20’s, rapidly moving towards my 30’s. I’ve had an enriching, challenging time in my 20’s and it’s been interesting to reflect on the journey I’ve had in my 20’s.

I’ve grown so much in my 20’s. I started out in hospitality, single and starting my second University degree. Now, I’m married, have two kids and work from home. So much has changed in such a short amount of years and it’s insane to look back and see all that’s happened. I’ve learnt to pursue my passions, not let others opinions dictate my life and truly pursued what makes me happy. I’ve been honing my writing skills and continuing to pursue those hobbies that I love.

I’ve found an amazing community in my 20’s that has helped lift me up when I’m low and celebrated my highs. It’s been amazing to find those connections and have friends in the same stage of life as me. I hope those connections remain strong as I head into my 30’s!

30 is rapidly approaching, and I’m honestly excited to hit the big 3-0. So much growth has happened over the past 10 years and I’m excited to see what 29 brings before I head into my 30’s. Bring it on!
